Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's Response to President Obama Speech

===============================================
I think Chris Matthews summed it up best. "Oh, God!" I was going to post a response on several political blogs, but my fellow bloggers did too good a job of expressing my sentiments. I couldn't stop laughing at the "Howdy Doody" and "Mr. Rogers" references. I am not a fan of Governor Jindal, but I was embarrassed for him and could only wince every time he tried to make a point. The GOP better rethink its future if its resting it hopes for the future on Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal. I did write the following email to the a certain Louisiana newspaper:

I'm a republican, living in Takoma Park, Md., who worked for the RNC from 1985-1988, and if this is the best Jindal and his group of so-called conservatives can do, then their permanent minority status is assured for the future. All Jindal did was recite the stale conservative rhetoric of the past 15 years that started with a bang in 1994 and ended with disaster in 2008. What he and others fail to realize is that government of the people, by the people and for the people is what this nation is supposed to be about. Obama understands this and that is why there will be hurt feelings on the democratic side as well as the republican side. Obama hasn't been in DC long enough to owe favors, establish a good ol' boys network, or become a jaded politician. Both politicial parties are comprised of too many hacks who only care about their narrow interests and their financial backers. Jindal did nothing to promote a vision for the future that is compatible with the mood of the American People.

I get the updates and emails from Obama, as well as the surveys asking my opinion. I am not alone. Citizens all across the nation are holding meetings and workshops to discuss the issues of the day as well as offering up solutions. Obama is already set for life and a second term is not promised so he has every incentive to carry out the wishes of the American People and change the course of the nation. He didn't have a honeymoon and he will hammered by the other side daily regardless of the direction he pursues. With that said he might as well do that which he promised because he may only have one term in office to achieve his objectives. If Jindal continues to spout the same tired rhetoric of the past, then he better think twice about opposing Obama in 2012 because right now he comes off as petty and devoid of fresh ideas. Peace.
